The Southern Hills Math Guides program is based on a teaching model pioneered by Dr. Erik Dutilly has used to help dozens of Southern Hills math students. He discovered three things. First, many students needed to hear math instruction differently from how their teacher explained it. Second, they needed an opportunity to learn from high quality tests and quizzes that were similar to their school tests to reduce anxiety and surprise. Third, the deeper issue was that many students were not getting better at problem solving with algebra. Math Guides aims to fix each of these three problems.
