PhD Neuroscientist | Math | Science | Psychology | Statistics | Writing | Critical Thinking | Chess Instructor

Ted holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. His graduate and postdoctoral research focused on how the brain integrates information to guide decision-making and behavior. His academic interests span neuroscience, psychology, statistics, history, comparative religion, and the science of learning. He particularly enjoys breaking complex ideas into manageable pieces and helping students understand not just what to do, but why it works.

Outside of tutoring, Ted enjoys competitive chess, rock climbing, hiking, reading, and exploring ideas in science, technology, and philosophy. He is also continuing to develop his writing, with particular interests in the sociology of science and theoretical psychology. Elementary Education

Cara Cluver is a student at the University of Colorado Boulder studying elementary education. She currently holds her associates degree in elementary education and has three years teaching experience in an early learning center. She is passionate about curating an environment that loves learning and meeting each student where they're at with a genuine drive to help them grow and be there every step of the process. Cara strives to build an emotional connection to support in-depth, valuable, and progressive learning that allows every student to not just succeed, but feel pride in doing so.

She understands that early education is the building block for a strong sense of learning and confidence well into adulthood, and prioritizes creative solutions, problem solving, and a curious mindset to allow each student to thrive and feel confident in their abilities on their own.

When not studying or tutoring, Cara enjoys exploring the town of Boulder. She prioritizes appreciating the outdoors, and can often be found hammocking, hiking, or laying out by the river with a good book. Cara's favorite children's books are "The English Roses" and "The Kissing Hand".
