Between high school and college, Dr. Dutilly studied abroad in Bolivia (South America) under the auspices of the Rotary Club. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004 with degrees in Spanish and Geography. After obtaining a master's degree in education from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2012, Dr. Dutilly was recruited into the university's School of Education. There, he studied educational psychology, program evaluation, adolescent psychology, and STEM education under the guidance of Dr. Benjamin Kirshner. He graduated with a Ph.D. in education research in December of 2018.
Occupationally, Dr. Dutilly has worked in numerous schools, from public to Montessori. He has volunteered for many years with local youth programs, including Sierra Club youth chapters. He has conducted program evaluations of local non-profit organizations that inspire disadvantaged children to attend higher education. He has also worked in the software tech industry.
Born in Wisconsin, Dr. Dutilly fell in love with Boulder, Colorado, when he first visited thirteen years ago. It was equal parts mountain running, rock climbing, climate, and educational opportunities.
Dr. Dutilly is from a Puerto Rican-American family and dedicates free time to playing music, outdoor recreation, and mentoring younger family members in Wisconsin.

RiT does what schools wish: customize education to fit the individual student's needs. To do this, we stick to our own ABCs: Artificial intelligence, Bold, Community, Driven, Empathetic, and Fun.
Artificial Intelligence. We stay on the cutting edge of technology to support our students on a one-on-one basis. The newest technology of today will be your child's tomorrow.
Bold. We are not afraid to pilot new approaches, deviate from the curriculum, or experiment to find a way to capture your child's imagination, motivation, and inspiration.
Community. We live, serve, and contribute to the economy of the Boulder community. We help raise the children here and push ourselves to be the best mentors and teachers.
Driven. - We are driven to create lasting benefits and outcomes in the lives of our students.
Empathetic. We care about our work and our students. We center their emotions and we are aware that many of our students have received endless amounts of negative feedback from peers and the school system.
Fun. Above all, we strive to make learning fun and engaging. All of our sessions begin with an icebreaker activity: a learning game, origami, or a fun get-to-know-you question.
